Submission Guidelines

Theme: What I Wish You Knew About Me as a Muslim/Jew

Call for Submissions: January 15 – April 15, 2020 | Launch date: Early September

Submission Fee: $0

Prose | Fiction | Poetry | Letters up to 2000 words will be printed in a limited edition, free book as part of the envelope package. Visual art, photography prints, graphic art also accepted as long as they fit in an 8 X 11 envelope.
Submissions can include visual art, creative versions of Khutbah (Friday sermons)/High Holy Holiday sermons, letters, video letters, online music, spoken word, or an array of expression.

Material can be submitted here for those with gmail accounts, or via Jotform. There is no submission fee.

Prose Guidelines:

  • Prose submissions (letters, fiction, essays, reflections) should not to exceed 2,000 words, double-spaced, single-sided pages (1″ margins, 12-pt. Times New Roman font) in a Word document, or Google docs.
  • Poetry submissions cannot be longer than three double-spaces pages.
  • Please include a cover sheet with name, address, phone number, e-mail address, word count, and title.
  • The goal is to inform participants by May 1st regarding submission status.

Visual Art Submission Guidelines: Submit up to 3 pieces of work via high resolution images or a link to your portfolio/website accompanied. Label images with their title. Pieces cannot be three dimensional and must fit in a 8 1/2 X 11 envelope. If chosen, artists will need to provide 160 copies of their work to be dispersed in the envelope.( DIP can work with accepted submissions if this poses a financial barrier.) Some examples are here.
